I bought this item and sadly, the iPod Touch 2nd Generation didn’t even fit the case meant for it. Very disappointed.

It doesn’t fit the new iTouch which, I would assume, makes it almost useless at this point. The case itself is fine, but now I have to pay extra money for shipping so I can get one that does work with iTouch 2. I think they should make a point of that in the description, because I just completely wasted my time.

As the 1st reviewer said the back is not clear it’s opaque !! Further it has the word Griffin on it. If you’re interested in just a protective case this one might be ok or a soft silicon one might be better. If you’d like to see your iPod perhaps with a skin on it like mine has I’d suggest looking at Tuneware’s Tuneshell product.
It has Tuneware written on the back of it but it does appear to be clear.

Just got the new Ipod Touch (32 mb) today and went to Target to buy a good case. I picked up the Griffin iClear Hard-Shell Case and took everything home. After trying for a good 30 minutes to get the case on, I finally went to the Apple site and checked the depth of the new Touch. The new Touch has a depth of .33 (8.5m); whereas the old Touch’s depth is 31 (8m). Yes, just that little amount of depth will render the case useless. Nowhere on the packaging for the case does it give the acceptable size for a good fit. And I thought I was getting a great deal because the case is on sale at Target for $10.00. Too bad it doesn’t fit the new Touch. Beware if you’re planning to buy any case for the Touch, make sure it says it will fit the new Ipod Touch. My next stop will be at the Apple store.

I read the first few reviews, then looked (I thought) pretty hard at the description, and decided it would fit the new Itouch I was buying. I was wrong; like the other reviewer (alas, I hadn’t read that far in advance) I just wasted 30 minutes trying to get it to fit.
